Revalidation
Every three years, at the point of your renewal of registration, you will need to show that as a professional, you are living by the Nursing and Midwifery Council's (NMC) Code for Professional Standards of Practice and Behaviour for Nurses, Midwives and Nursing Associates.
The aim of revalidation is to strengthen professionalism and practice and to improve public protection and professional standards. We at NHS Professionals strongly believe in revalidation and encourage all our Bank members to go through the process.
To assist you in revalidation we have created an 8 step programme for you to follow and a feedback form when working a shift that can be completed by a Trust member of staff, which covers skills and abilities. This peer review can form part of your revalidation submission.
We also provide several online learning modules through Learnspace. Other links you may find useful are detailed below:
- NMC’s Revalidation websitewhere you can do your revalidation
- Blood Transfusion Training - a nationally recognised eLearning course which will provide a sound knowledge base regarding the safer administration of blood and blood products.
- The Code for Nurses and Midwives
