Location/Trust: HMP Garth & HMP Wymott - Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust

The Role:

Are you an experienced RGN who would like to provide better lives for the residents, working for one of the UK’s most respected NHS Mental Health Foundation Trusts?

** Prison vetting is not essential although would be an advantage **

Based at HMP Garth & HMP Wymott, you will be providing an efficient and effective service for residents with organic and functional Mental Health needs across HMP including:

  • Medication administration including controlled drugs
  • Emergency response (Code Red/Code Blue) including A-E assessment and NEWS
  • Basic wound dressing including wound closure e.g. steri-strip, skin glue
  • Nurse led clinics
  • Blood Clinics
  • NHS Health checks
  • Administration of immunisations + vaccinations

We are looking for an experienced Registered Nurse to pick up regular bank shifts across both HMP Garth & HMP Wymott:

HM Prison Garth & HM Prison Wymott are Category C men's prisons near Leyland.

Wymott is operated by Her Majesty's Prison Service, and is next to HMP Garth - Over 1100 men live at Wymott across 11 units.

Garth is operated by Her Majesty's Prison Service, and is next to HMP Wymott - Around 800 men live at Garth. Most men get their own room.

Hours/Shifts: you will be contacted to confirm your availability which will be sent to the Practice manager with your CV for review.

Skills/Responsibilities

  • Professional Qualification
  • Registered nurse with current registration (RGN)
  • Experience of observations (inc manual BP) / NEWS
  • ILS
  • Emergency Response
  • ECG’s

Desirable:

  • Experience of using System one
  • Venepuncture
  • Reception screening using SEAT template
