The Trust is currently running two incentives to support the current staffing situation. Allocate on Arrival shift incentive and the £250 incentive.
Our incentive for Allocate on Arrival shifts has now increased from £25 to £50. This is available to Nurses and Healthcare Assistants booking via the ‘NHSP Ward’ at Sunderland Royal Hospital and South Tyneside District Hospital.
The change in amount will apply to all shifts worked from Sunday 16th January until Sunday 6th March. Shifts worked previously will be paid at £25.*
Please be advised Allocate on Arrival shifts booked on the NHSP Ward since 31st December WILL now contribute towards the other 37.5 hours incentive target.
We are also pleased to confirm the extension of the £250 incentive payment.
A new qualifying period for the £250 incentive will begin on Monday 24 January to Sunday 6 March. Any shifts starting on 23rd January or earlier will be included in the previous period.
The £250 incentive payment is open to all Nursing, Midwifery, Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) including Operating Department Practitioners and Healthcare Scientists and Admin and Clerical staff who are registered with NHSP (acute and community), up to a maximum of £750.
In order for NHSP to be able to calculate shifts that are eligible for the incentives, timesheets worked within the qualifying period must be authorised and released within the timeframe below (see payment schedule below for staff that meet the 37.5 hour target for the NHSP incentive).

Please note the above timescales relate solely to incentive payments. Payment for hours worked will continue to be made each week in accordance with the normal NHSP timescales.
