We are recruiting Staff Nurses in Mental Health across the county and provide anopportunity to work in a busy and varied environment, alongside clinical and other non-clinical colleagues to make a positive contribution to our patients and staff experience.

Skills/Responsibilities:

  • Assessing the care needs of individual patients and then developing, implementing, and evaluating programmes of care for them.
  • Leading a team of nurses in the provision of care to a named group of patients.
  • Taking charge of the ward when required in the absence of the Ward Manager.
  • Ensure that each patient in his/her care receives an individual nursing assessment and is the subject of a regularly updated care plan which, wherever practicable, is formulated in conjunction with the patient.
  • Ensure that information regarding patients’ needs and progress is always communicated promptly and accurately to their relatives and other professionals involved in their care having due regard for confidentiality.
  • Facilitate open and harmonious communications amongst all staff within the ward as well as with other departments with the aim of promoting multi-disciplinary and multi-agency approaches to care.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of all Trust policies and procedures and apply them, as necessary. Particular attention is drawn to the post holder’s personal responsibility for the maintenance of patient confidentiality and adherence to local Health and Safety policies.
  • Will observe and implement the requirement of the Mental Health Act 1983.
  • Will adhere to the NMC code of Professional Conduct.

In order to apply for a post, youmusthave a minimum of 6 months experience in a similar role held within the last 2 years and be Registered Mental Health Nurse with a Valid NMC Pin.
