Pay:

  • Day: £17.04 per hour

  • Saturday / night: £22.05 per hour

  • ShapeSunday / Bank Holiday: £27.14 per hour

Working in partnership with Nottingham University Hospitals Trust, NHS Professionals provides a service that combines intimate understanding of the Trusts temporary and flexible workforce requirements with the reliability, quality and value for money that only a managed service can offer.

We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic Registered Nurses to join the Flexible Bank at Nottingham University Hospitals. The flexible worker will be required to carry out all relevant forms of quality care to patients who attend the Critical Care Departments.

Nottingham University Hospitals provide critical care services at QMC and City Hospital. Our dedicated critical care team includes medical staff, nurses, physiotherapists, pharmacists and dietitians, who provide care for patients affected by a range of serious health conditions.

There are three critical care departments across our two hospital sites:

  • Surgical High Dependency Unit (QMC) - for patients for patients who need more specialist nursing/medical support than the general ward level but do not require intensive care.
  • Medical High Dependency Unit (QMC) - for patients with a range of acute medical conditions.
  • Adult Critical Care (City Hospital) - for patients with a range of acute needs, patients whorequire more specialist nursing/medical support than the general ward level can provide.We specialise in patients with complex breathing problems, cancers, kidney disease, burns and infectious diseases.

Skills and responsibilities:

  • Have a minimum of 6 months paid experience in an acute hospital environment within the last 2 years.
  • Comply with NMC Professional Registration and keep up to date with current nursing practices.
  • Undertake nursing assessment and evaluation to enable development of appropriate plans of care based on the needs of the individual
  • Be proficient in the delivery of care to patients
  • Ensure safe administration of drugs in accordance with NMC and CHS policies
  • Ensure accurate records are kept in accordance with CHS policy and NMC guidelines
  • Carry out nursing procedures and techniques in accordance with agreed policies and standards
  • Undertake regular mandatory training
